Analyse des contraintes liées a la production de l’ananas biologique au Bénin : cas de la ferme « Alowanou » dans la commune de Tori-Bossito

RÉSUMÉ

L’agriculture biologique est en constante évolution dans le monde et surtout en Afrique. Cette évolution ne cache pas les nombreuses contraintes auxquelles elle est confrontée. Cette étude diagnostique menée au Bénin dans la Commune de Tori-Bossito sur la ferme agricole « Alowanou » a porté sur l’analyse des contraintes liées à la production de l’ananas biologique dans ladite Commune dans le but d’étudier les différentes contraintes qui s’exercent sur la production d’ananas biologique.

La méthodologie adoptée pour obtenir ces résultats se regroupe autour des axes que sont le choix du point d’entrée, la préparation en salle, la collecte des données secondaires, la phase d’étude (réalisée à l’aide des observations participantes, les interviews, les discussions de groupe…) et la phase de rédaction à l’aide de la matrice FFOM, le Tableur Grapheur Excel, le logiciel statistique Minitab.

Cette étude a mis en évidence que la faiblesse de la production de l’ananas biologique est la principale contrainte qui pèse sur la production de l’ananas biologique dans la Commune de Tori-Bossito. Cet état de chose est dû essentiellement à la faiblesse des superficies emblavées par l’ananas biologique et aux faibles rendements obtenus (en moyenne 35 000 kg/ha). L’indisponibilité et la cherté des intrants biologiques sont en effet à la base de la sous-dosage de la fumure biologique (22 500 kg utilisés contre 25 000 kg recommandés). Dans la perspective d’augmenter la production d’ananas biologique afin d’acquérir et de fidéliser le marché, nous proposons un projet de recherche sur le thème « Efficacité de plusieurs types de compost sur le rendement de l’ananas (pain de sucre) ». Une fois à terme les résultats de ces travaux permettront de déterminer le type de compost dont l’utilisation corrigera considérablement le rendement de l’ananas biologique.

SUMMARY

The evolution of organic agriculture in the world and particularly in Africa doesn’t hide the many constraints with which it is confronted. This diagnostic study which conducts in Benin in Tori-Bossito city on the agricultural farm « Alowanou » affected to the analysis of the constraints related to the pineapple organic production in the aforementioned city with an aim of studying the many constraints which are exerted on the pineapple organic production.

This study was carried out in three phases using certain tools diagnoses. The exploratory phase just like the phase of investigation made it possible to collect the data using the tools diagnoses which are the observations on the ground, the guide of discussion and the set of questions for the interviews. The approach used which is that of the participative diagnosis implying the producers themselves. The drafting and data processing run of the data was carried out thanks to the tools for analysis which are: matrix SWOT, the Venn diagram, the tree with problems, the tree with solutions, the farming calendar, the spreadsheet Excel graphics package as well as the software of statistical analysis Minitab.

The results of this study showed that less than 5%of the pineapple producers of RePAB are in the organic mode. Among the reasons evoked by the producers the inexistence of market for the flow of the organics products appears which the principal constraint in the Commune of study is. This state of affair is due inter alia to the insufficiency of the production to satisfy the request very often external, with the areas covered which are very low (0.5ha on average), with the often weak yield. More specifically the agricultural farm “Alowanou” also suffers from difficulties in respecting the biological regulations (in particular the proscription of the existence of double producers), the problem of quality of the manpower etc. With a view to interest the markets with the organic production of pineapple by an increase in the output, we propose one search project around “Efficiency topic of multi-typical of compost on the yield of pineapple (Pain de Sucre)”. Once in the long term the results of this work will make it possible at the same time to determine the typical compost which can correct considerably the yield of organic pineapple.
